Get To Know The Place

The company is a young and international FMCG trading organization based in Amsterdam. They trade in A brand consumer goods, mainly within categories such as personal care and household products. Their customers and suppliers are spread across Europe, and the company operates outside traditional distribution channels.

That means the work is fast moving and strongly commercial. Prices change, stock positions shift and opportunities can appear or disappear quickly. Success depends on market feeling, timing, relationships and the ability to act when there is a deal to be made.

The organization has grown strongly over the past few years and is now taking the next step in its development. It still has the energy and directness of a young trading company, but is also becoming more structured and professional. For someone who likes responsibility, pace and international business, that creates an interesting environment to grow in.

About The Job

In this role, you will be responsible for the French market. You will build and maintain relationships with buyers in France, while also working with sellers who are mainly based in Eastern Europe. You will follow market movements closely and develop a strong understanding of products, pricing, availability, customer needs and margin opportunities.

A large part of your work will be about creating movement. You will approach new contacts, follow up on leads, negotiate pricing and delivery terms, and stay close to both buyers and sellers to understand where opportunities are forming. Together with the internal supply chain team, you will make sure that orders are processed properly once a deal is made.

This is not a purely account management role. There is already a base, but the market still needs to be developed further. You need to enjoy commercial pressure, outbound contact and negotiation. The better you understand your market, the more effectively you can decide which relationships to build, which products to push and where the next deal can come from.

Your Qualities

You do not need years of experience in FMCG or trading. Experience in sales, business development, recruitment, purchasing or another commercial environment can also be relevant. What matters most is that you are commercially driven, curious, persistent and confident enough to build your own market.

You are fluent in French and English and feel comfortable making calls, approaching new people and pushing conversations forward. You can deal with rejection, keep momentum and stay sharp when things move quickly. You like having responsibility and do not need every step to be mapped out before you take action.

A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree is preferred, ideally in a commercial direction. You live in the Netherlands or are willing to work from the Netherlands, and you are open to travelling when needed for trade shows, client meetings or supplier visits.

Their Benefits

You will join a young, ambitious and international company where you get responsibility early on. The role gives you ownership over your own market, direct exposure to international trade and the chance to develop quickly in a commercial environment.

The company offers a competitive salary, an uncapped bonus structure and a personal growth path. You will work from a modern office in Amsterdam, together with a team that values openness, energy, entrepreneurship and commercial results.

There is also a strong team culture, with regular drinks, company events and annual weekends abroad. At the same time, the real value of this opportunity is the combination of freedom, responsibility and pace. You get the chance to build a market further, learn international trading from the inside and make a visible impact on the company’s growth.
